Where should I make my hotel reservations?

There are several hotels located near Yale University campus. A special rate has been coordinated at Courtyard by Marriott and at Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. When you make the reservation, you should specify that you are with the Unite For Sight Conference. There is limited space available, so we advise that you make reservations as soon as possible.

Available on a first come, first serve basis, students attending the conference have an option to be matched with a Yale student host and lodge with the Yale student in the Yale dorms.  First, the student must register to attend the conference in order to confirm intent to participate.  Then, the student should email UFS@uniteforsight.org to request a Yale student host.  A Yale student will subsequently coordinate for the student conference participant to lodge with a Yale student host.

What airports are near New Haven?

Travel time to Yale is approximately 10 minutes.

Travel time is approximately 60 minutes by car.

How can I get from the airport to New Haven?

You can coordinate travel via Prime Time Connecticut Airport Shuttle from Bradley Airport, LaGuardia, or JFK. Reservations for a special discounted rate [$63 each way; $44 companion fare] can be made by clicking here to be brought to Prime Time Connecticut Airport Shuttle's Reservation Portal. I am not from the U.S. How can I obtain a Visa?

• First, determine if you qualify under the Visa Waiver Program, which allows citizens of 27 countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business, for 90 days or less, without obtaining a visa. You may read about the Visa Waiver Program and the qualifying countries.
• If you do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program and need to obtain a Visa, you may learn about Visa procedures at U.S. Department of State Temporary Visitors and Destination USA
• Locate your nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate.
• Complete an electronic visa application that you can print and bring to your Visa interview.
• After you fully register for the Unite For Sight Conference with payment, we can provide you with a letter confirming that you have registered and paid for attendance at the conference. You would bring this letter with you to your Visa interivew.

How do I submit an abstract?

The abstract deadline was September 15, 2008, and we are not able to accept any additional abstracts after the deadline.
