Donation FAQs

Unite For Sight maintains the highest standard for financial responsibility, and we focus on financial ethics, efficiency, and resource maximization. 100% of all online donations go directly to providing eye care for patients living in extreme poverty, and 0% goes to any other purpose. Our financial model bests other nonprofits by a wide margin.

How much of my donation is going directly to people in need?

We ensure that 100% of your donation will go towards our international eye care programs. We work very hard to keep our administrative costs extremely low. In fact, Unite For Sight spends $0 per year on fundraising, and only 2-3% of its operating budget on administrative costs. These numbers are drawn from audited financial statements. No administrative costs are funded by donations, which means that 100% of all donations from individuals, associations, foundations, and businesses, provide direct eye care services to patients living in poverty. Unite For Sight is committed to spending your money in a highly productive, efficient way.

How will my donation be used?

Your donation will directly support where help is needed most. 80% of all blindness is preventable or curable, and your generosity will provide preventive and sight-restoring eye care to patients in Africa and Asia who would otherwise remain or become blind because they are unable to afford eye care. With your generous support, Unite For Sight's programs reduce all barriers to eye care, including education and awareness, expense, distance and transportation, and, in developing countries, too few trained eye doctors.

Does Unite For Sight have annual audits?

Yes, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes. The tax receipt is sent to you by an email attachment to avoid administrative and mailing costs. When can I expect my receipt?

You will receive your tax receipt immediately upon Unite For Sight's receipt of your donation.

I don't have much money. Can I still help?

How to Help

As featured weekly on
My experience taught me that Ghanaian people are the friendliest people I have interacted with anywhere in the world, that ordinary people involved with Unite For Sight are making extraordinary differences, and that sitting in a classroom receiving a world-class education cannot match real life experiences while volunteering.
