[View Flash Version]Did you know that eating certain foods is good for your eyes? It's true! Foods rich in vitamin A are very good for our eye health. I found out that what we eat has a lot to do with our eyesight and keeping our eyes healthy. The most important nutrient for our eyesight is vitamin A. People who do not have enough vitmain A in their diet can have xerophthalmia, pronounced zero-f-thal-mia, which leads to blindness. Some foods have vitamin A, which can help prevent blindness. Eating foods such as carrots, mangoes, cantalupes, chicken liver, beef liver, and dairy products, and other foods help your eyesight. You should always try to eat green veggies too! Green veggies have some vitamins that your body cannot make itself, so it has to get them from the food that you eat. Woof Woof! Now that I know about food, I will make sure to eat what is good for my eyes! I hope that all of you eat more carrots and mangoes, too.
