Unite For Sight® believes that youth and teen leadership will help to improve eye health throughout the world. This website empowers and educates youth to learn about eye health, the importance of regular eye exams, and ways in which you can become involved with the growing movement of Unite For Sight Student Eye Health Educators. As a youth leader, you will not only learn about your own eyes but also improve eye health in communities throughout the world.

Children and teens are susceptible to eye disease, though 80% of all eye disease can be prevented if detected early. In many developing countries, neither the funds nor the eye doctors are available to offer adequate care to those in need. Do not let your age hold you back! Every person is capable of great things. If you are interested in joining Unite For Sight to help improve eye health worldwide, contact us.

You can collect eyeglasses at your school and in your community for donation to children and adults in African, Asian, and Latin American countries. A more hands-on approach in your own local community is available if you would like to educate people about eye health and participate in vision screening programs. Begin by contacting us and completing the Unite For Sight Online Eye Health Course to become a Unite For Sight Eye Health Educator. You can then start a chapter of Unite For Sight and implement eye health seminars and vision education programs for your community. You can also assist your local university chapters of Unite For Sight with vision screening programs.

Volunteering in Ghana with Unite For Sight was a fantastic experience, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Nothing can take away my six weeks, nor could leaving remove my new found dedication and determination to continue and help fight against blindness and preventable eye diseases in poverty-stricken countries. I look forward to my return as the spirit of Ghana forever resides in my soul.
